Heads up, folks! Watch your speed. Despite popular beliefs, the speed limit is in fact the LIMIT. Any speed in excess of the posted speed is a statutory violation under the laws of North Carolina. The speed limit also applies to the far left lane, sometimes known as “the passing lane”, “the fast lane”, or the “hammer lane”.
However, if you should be cited for a minor violation of the speed limit, call an attorney! “De minimis” or minor speeding infractions can be challenged in court. Call the Law Office of Kevin Kennedy, it’s a free phone call!
While police officers have good reason to ignore minor violations of the speeding laws, nothing says they have to. In other words, proceed at your own risk. Pass the word. Be careful out there, folks, wear your seat belt!
